I first met Mel when she was still working towards her personal trainer qualifications. She is very involved in training herself and used the same training principles/programmes that she teaches, so she knows what works and what doesn't. She has written a number of programs for me based on my needs, goals and abilities. She fully explains each exercise, not only how to do the exercise but why and the effects it will produce. This gives a better understanding of how different exercises work together , which is very helpful. She is also very keen on stretching, warming up, etc and has provided numerous stretches which has definitely improved my suppleness and flexibility. In the past, I have had some information about certain exercises that have taken months and months to heal. After following some stretching routines I have absolutely no issues with doing the same exercises now. The programs that Mel has written for me have been progressive, well thought and productive. My current program is very well thought out, it is a blend of heavy weight low rep sets through to lower weight high rep sets. I find it very holistic approach that does not overload joints etc. So combined with stretching there is much less chance of an injury and progress is faster. With Mel's training, I have had great results. Initially I lost weight through fat loss, now I am gaining weight through added muscle. The weight that I can now lift is more than I ever could, and my joints and tendons are definitely more flexible and free moving. If you are looking for a personal trainer, you will find Mel very friendly, knowledgeable and encouraging. She will work to make sure the individual program she writes for you works for your needs, making tweets and giving advice along the way. Have some trust and belief in Mel's training and you will undoubtedly get impressive results.

I just want to praise Melinda's thorough advice she has provided me over several months now. She has helped me with a variety of problems I have had, such as low range of motion, flexibility, mild scoliosis and imbalances associated with this, such as ankle pain and pelvic tilts. Melinda shared personalised stretches and strengthening exercises to help with my problems and provided videos, so these were easy for me to follow and perform. Each stretch or exercise was provided with reps and sets too, so I knew how often to perform these without causing more harm.
